Introducing… Katie!

Favorite Book Genre(s):

Urban / Paranormal Fantasy

Least Favorite Book Genre(s):

True Crime

Five Favorite Books of all Time:

The Hunger Games Trilogy, by Suzanne Collins

The Fault in Our Stars, by John Green

Graceling (Book 1 of the Graceling Realm Series), by Kristin Cashore

The Mists of Avalon, by Marion Zimmer Bradley

Wicked: The Life & Times of the Wicked Witch of the West, by Gregory Maguire

Three Least Favorite Books of all Time:

Fifty Shades Trilogy, by E. L. James

Eat, Pray, Love: One Woman’s Search for Everything Across Italy, India, & Indonesia, by Elizabeth Gilbert

The Red Badge of Courage, by Stephen Crane

Favorite Author(s):

George Bernard Shaw.  I know he’s a scriptwriter, but he really changed the way modern theater is viewed.  Heartbreak House is genius!

Favorite Literary Quote:

Every man to whom salvation is offered has an inalienable natural right to say, ‘No, thank you: I prefer to retain my full moral responsibility: it is not good for me to be able to load a scapegoat with my sins; I should be less careful how I committed them if I knew they would cost me nothing.’ ”  – George Bernard Shaw, Androcles and the Lion

Coffee or Tea:

Green tea!  Iced!  With lemon!

Hobbies:

Reading, writing very bad poetry, exploring the world with my best bub (Cameron, the world’s hammiest golden lab) and my partner.

If you could interview any author, living or dead, who would it be and why?

Wallace Stevens.  He was a chauvinistic bigot, but it doesn’t change the fact that he was a brilliant poet.  I’d love to know more about his writing process and how his “voice” changed from poem to poem.

A Lil’ Something Extra:

I really wish I had something to add, but I’m just not weird enough to be interesting.
